Jane’s childhood summers were spent in Rosslare, where she now resides in the family cottage with her studio, situated on the Cliff Road, overlooking Rosslare Bay. A self-taught landscape artist working primarily in oil and pastel, Jane also loves drawing in graphite or any medium that leaves a mark. Drawing from life has been fundamental to her learning to paint.

Growing up in a home filled with musical instruments and a love of music, Jane practices music on her mandolin or piano before painting, which helps her imbue rhythm and soul into her canvas. Her inspiration comes from the changing skies and sea, and her work conveys a sense of peace and serenity.

Jane often travels across the country, from the Antrim coast to the South East, capturing the essence and mood of her surroundings. Her devotion to painting en plein air has led her to a position at Europe’s largest plein air festival, Art in the Open, and recently, the Pastel Society of Ireland.

She won bronze and people’s choice awards for her pastel paintings at Art in the Open in 2012 and 2014. Jane exhibits at Art Source, RDS, Love Your Home, Titanic Expo Centre, Belfast, The Denis Collins Gallery, Wexford, and Gallery Art Nou Millenni in Barcelona. Her work is in collections throughout Ireland and in London, Scotland, New Zealand and the USA.
